lost home - in collaboration with Minh Tam
We would like to upturn the association between the photographed and the physically present to capture instead what is no longer there - our lost homes. With 8 participants who share a story of lost home - a place of no return in any way, we recollect memories and represent them through sensory feelings in their daily lives. To contextualize the unrepresentable lost space, we use a large white backdrop to materialize the idea of loss and distort currently available spaces. The disturbing whiteness is empty but also has the potential for imagination, and with the over-exposed photographs, evokes dreaminess and unreality.
